In cricket, “Bowled” is a method of dismissal that occurs when the bowler delivers the ball and it directly hits the batsman’s wickets (the three vertical stumps behind the batsman<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n

If the ball knocks off the bails<\/strong><\/a> (the two small pieces of wood that sit on top of the stumps), the batsman is declared out.<\/p>\n

This can happen if the batsman fails to properly defend their wickets with their bat<\/strong><\/a> or their body.<\/p>\n

It’s considered a significant achievement for the bowler<\/strong><\/a>, as they have directly caused the dismissal without any assistance from their teammates.<\/p>\n

What is Bowled in Cricket?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A bowled dismissal occurs when the bowler delivers the ball<\/strong><\/a> in such a way that it hits the stumps directly, or strikes the batsman’s leg or pad<\/a> and then goes on to hit the stumps.<\/p>\n

If the ball hits the stumps with enough force to dislodge the bails, the batsman is out.<\/p>\n

Imagine you’re playing a game where you have to knock over some objects with a ball. In cricket, those objects are called “stumps” and they’re set up behind the batsman. The person throwing the ball is called the “bowler”.<\/p>\n
